World of Warcraft is one of the top MMORPGs. MMORPG stands for massive multiplayer online role-playing game. WoW (short for World of Warcraft) is probably the biggest MMORPG at the moment. When you start, you choose a server. After that, you can begin to make your character. There are two opposing factions. The alliance and the horde. The alliance are the “good guys” and the horde are the “bad guys.” In the alliance, there are a few different races to choose from. You can be human, a dwarf, a night elf, a gnome, and with the new expansion pack, the burning crusade, you can be dranei. On the horde, you can choose from the undead, orc, tauren, troll, and in the new expansion, blood elves. After choosing whether to be Alliance or Horde, then choosing your race, there are a number of classes to choose from aswell. Not all races have the same classes though. You can be a Warrior, a Paladin, a Rogue, a Hunter, a Mage, a Priest, a Druid, a Shaman, and a Warlock.
After going through the procces of creating your virtual-self, you can finnally begin. You do quests and instances and make group missions and learn skills and do many other cool stuff. The UI (user interface) of WoW is very easy to learn, but can overwhelming and first. You might think, “I will never fill up all these action bar slots” but trust me, you will. WoW has a level cap of 60. In the new expansion, they raised it to 70. I’ll post another blog review on the expansion. Anyway, at lvl 60, you can begin to get your goals straightened out. You want to find a good guild, get an epic mount (kind-of like a horse, but it depends on what race you are) and begin to raid. Raiding is doing level 60 instances that require 40 people. Usually, you only do it if you are in a raiding guild. When you raid, you hope to come out with a piece of a Tier Set. A tier set is an epic piece of armor. After a while, you will have the complete set, and you will look amazing. Then it’s time to make a second character.
WoW is a very good game. I enjoy playing it a lot. But the quests tend to be the same thing over and over. The graphics aren’t state of the art, and there are somethings that could be fixed. But WoW, like guild wars, is unique. It has its own style and its much more fantasy than realistic.
Well thats all for now,
